Born in Goiânia, Brazil, Murillo moved to the U.S. at a young age. He received his initial ballet training from Steps of Faith Dance Studio, and the school of the Georgia Ballet. Murillo credits his utmost training to Orlando Molina, Daet Rodriguez, Magit Peguero, and Ashleyanne Hensley—with additional training from Milwaukee Ballet and Oklahoma City Ballet.

He began his professional dance career as an apprentice with Georgia Ballet. The following year he was asked to join the corps de ballet with the company and danced there until he was promoted to principal. Murillo has had the opportunity to dance in various ballets such as Coppelia, Raymonda, La Sylphide, La Fille mal Gardeé, and Paquita. Notable roles include Snow King and Cavalier (The Nutcracker), John Darling (Peter Pan), Prince Siegfried (Swan Lake), Escamillo (Carmen Suite), and Brom (Sleepy Hollow). Murillo is thrilled to be back dancing with Golden State Ballet.
