Amélie Freeman, Corps de Ballet
Amélie Freeman began dancing at the age of four and completed her training at Le Jeune Dance Academy in Ohio. She graduated from high school cum laude with an honors diploma in 2021 before continuing her training in BalletMet's Trainee Program under the direction of Maria Torija. Following two years as a trainee, she spent two seasons with BalletMet's second company before joining the main company for one season.
During her time with BalletMet, Freeman performed throughout the greater Columbus, Ohio area in community outreach programs and performed principal roles in George Balanchine's Divertimento No. 15 and Walpurgisnacht. Her repertoire also includes works by Dwight Rhoden, Trey McIntyre, Juanjo Arqués, Edwaard Liang, Leiland Charles, Jerome Robbins, Gerard Charles, David Nixon, Rex Tilton, and Remi Wörtmeyer.
Amelie’s favorite roles include Michael from Peter Pan, a Jet Girl in West Side Story, and The Groove by Dwight Rhoden.
In 2026, Freeman was selected to compete at the Helsinki International Ballet Competition. She is excited to join Golden State Ballet for the 2026–2027 season
