Originally from Switzerland, Daniel Kubr began his formal ballet training at the Theater Basel before moving to the United States in 2015 to study at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary. He went on to dance with Cincinnati Ballet’s second company, Texas Ballet Theater, and Sacramento Ballet, where he was promoted to the main company in 2023.
In 2024, Daniel joined Smuin’s annual The Christmas Ballet as a guest artist. Among his favorite works to perform are Ihsan Rustem’s State of Matter, Penny Saunders’ Ghost Light, George Balanchine’s Who Cares?, Ma Cong’s Carry Me Anew, and Gregory Dawson’s Strange Love.
Daniel is thrilled to join Golden State Ballet this season and to continue growing as an artist in San Diego.
